Pros vs. Joes raises fun and funds for charities

The Sudbury Five fans will take on the Joes at the Sudbury Arena on December 29th – made up of business owners, local celebrities and Sudbury’s own mayor.

Sudbury Five is pleased to partner with the Pros vs Joes charity basketball event to raise money for local children’s charities on December 29th at the Sudbury Arena. It is 19:00

The game will help kick off Season Four with a fun, family-friendly event featuring local celebrities and prominent community members as well as the Sudbury Five roster in a Harlem Globetrotter-style all-star game format.

“This is going to be a really fun event for the players, the community and the charities,” said Sudbury Five head coach and general manager Logan Stutz. We’re going to completely immerse our local celebrities and sponsors in a game of Sudbury Five. They will play against the pros and they will play alongside the pros. There will be lots of fun and laughter for all and it’s all for a great cause. “I would love to see this become an annual event.”

Joe’s roster includes local celebrities and will even include Greater Sudbury’s new mayor, Paul Lefebvre, who will be hitting the court for a good cause. Local business members representing Joes include Sudbury Hyundai Owner/CEO Jeremy Manella, BMO Private Wealth’s Dino Rocca and Laurentian Voyageur head coach and former Five member Georges Serres.

The Sudbury Five are working alongside Kim Brouzes (Active Therapy + and Sports Therapist for the Sudbury Five Team) and her committee to help make this event a success.

As I begin my 25th year as a part of the Sudbury Voles organization and fifth year involved with Five, and as we slowly emerge from a stalled fundraising drought, it was important to me to be a part of something that Remember and help. Buroz said: Our local children who are not able to fight for themselves. Pros vs Joes is the first charity basketball game in Sudbury and we hope it will be an event that continues to raise money. “I can’t thank my community partners, our local businesses, my team and SWSE enough for all the help, time and effort they put into this event.”

Local children’s charities benefiting from the event include: NEO Children’s Foundation, United Way, Children of Families with Cancer of Northern Ontario, The Humane League, and the Sudbury Manitoulin Children’s Foundation.
