Marilyn Monroe Wax Statue Appears In The Lexington Hotel NYC Where She Used to Live
Marilyn Monroe He’s back at the Lexington Hotel – or at least, a wax figure of him is!
Madame Tussauds New York is lending its iconic statue of the blonde bombshell — along with its former Yankees Hall of Famer Joe DiMaggio– To the residence where they once lived together.
Suite 1806 at the Lexington Hotel was the couple’s limited-time marital home autograph suite while the actress filmed. The seven-year itch It was here that a scandalous night of hostility in the summer of 1954 caused the couple to separate, ending their 274-day marriage.

From August 4-17, guests can interact with both wax figures in the lobby of the modern Art Deco-inspired space.
“Madame Tussauds has always been known for creating immersive encounters with its most beloved celebrities, and there is truly no more iconic figure in pop culture history than Marilyn Monroe,” said George Hahnel, general manager of Madame Tussauds New York.
He continued, “What better place for an interactive experience than the place Marilyn and Joe once called home? The collaboration with The Lexington Hotel to recreate their ‘Explosion of Steam’ draws on Marie Tussaud’s own rich heritage of creating wax figures of famous and infamous European figures.

Visitors can even book Suite 1806, now called the Norma Jeane Suite, at the hotel.
Inspired by the couple, who eventually reconciled after their last fiery argument and remained friends until Monroe’s death in 1962, the 600-square-foot Hollywood glam suite features a private balcony with luxurious velvet and silk furnishings, Dorothy Draper cocktail glasses Monochrome and a decorated cocktail glass. The stunning separate bedroom vanity is complete with a king size bed – just like it was in the 1950’s.
This historic hotel is located at Lexington Avenue and East 48th Street in New York City, if you want to stop by and take a selfie with the couple!
