I’m a body language expert – here are the celebrities who are convinced they’ll win the Glitterball trophy
Tonight 15 famous stars begin their Strictly Come Dancing journey for the first time and begin the long road to winning the Glitterball trophy.
Viewers got a first look at the pairings yesterday, and a few celebrities look set to make it to the finale.
According to body language expert Darren Stanton, Matt Goss, Jade Adams, Hamza Yassin and Tyler West stood out as contenders for the award thanks to their connections with their professional partners.
Betfair Bingo’s Darren explained how touch, communication and an instant spark all play a part in the pair lifting the trophy by Christmas.
Matt Goss and Nadia Bychkova
Matt came out fighting, insisting that he intends to win the competition – a serious statement, but it will be interesting to see how far he goes.
It’s clear that she’s a very determined and driven person, and as she’s used to being on stage and performing, we can see that she’s come a long way this series. Matt appeared to be very genuine, he had great eye contact with Nadia.
He seems to be quite a spiritual person and responds well to his emotions. We saw him often looking down and to the right with his eyes – a classic sign that he’s following his instincts.
Matt and Nadia both seemed to hit it off from the start and there seemed to be an instant connection between the two. Matt might just be one to watch in the race, he has a real intensity on his face, like he’s on a mission.
Jayde Adams and Karen Hauer
Jayde immediately comes across as a real confident character who is used to being on stage and in control. It will be interesting to see if he can take a step back and allow Karen to lead and teach him as the series progresses.
Jayde is very animated in her body language and seems to bond with Karen instantly. We saw the two stars embrace as they paired up and began matching and mirroring each other’s body language – a strong sign of a relationship.
Karen was seen putting her arms around Jade as the two were already comfortable having each other in their vicinity. They displayed a very interesting dynamic that could be quite spectacular.
Hamzeh Yassin and Joyta Perzistal
We saw a wonderful first meeting between Hamza and Joyte – there was an instant rapport, with a great display of touch between the pair and lots of hugging.
Hamza is a very bubbly character and very down to earth, there is no pretense with him.
Communication between each couple is key on the show and Hamza and Joyta are already showing a clear communication tool both verbally and non-verbally – if they keep this up, they could go all the way.
Tyler West and Diane Buswell
We immediately saw a lot of genuine emotion and joy from Tyler and Diane when they first met.
The two were completely smitten with each other from the start, which obviously helped with the initial awkwardness of getting to know each other over the weeks.
There was clearly an initial spark, which we’ve seen become a key ingredient in the success of couples dancing on Strictly over the years.
Tyler and Diane can use this to their advantage to improve from week to week.
