Celebrities and the PC games they love
| PC Gamer
Watching Robert Pattinson desperately try to explain why it’s hard to choose between Aerith and Tifa in Final Fantasy VII because he loves them both is one of my simple pleasures in life. It’s quite the trend lately for celebrities to show off their nerdy tendencies. While celebs certainly always enjoy a game or two, more stars have accidentally let gaming take up a bigger part of their lives than they first let on. They’re just like us, you see, they need a break, and what better way than playing League of Legends?
Wait, actually one Lots Better to get comfortable with it than League of Legends games. But from Henry Cavill’s love of Warhammer to Robert Pattinson’s love of Aerith, the game’s roots in celebrity culture are many. So here is a list of celebrities and the games they love to spend their time on.
Henry Cavill
Henry Cavill doesn’t just play Geralt in the Netflix series, he loves The Witcher 3 and the stories surrounding the books and games. At San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, he told fans that he pushed his agent to meet with The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt before the series was greenlit. It was this persistence that earned him the role of Geralt. And he’s already quietly hinted that he’s interested in playing in a Adaptation of Red Dead Redemption (opens in a new tab) Both.
Cavill’s love of gaming doesn’t just stop at The Witcher. You may remember it A video of him building a PC (opens in a new tab) And the uproar it created on the internet. He is also known as the Overwatch game, and he is a Big fan of Warhammer (opens in a new tab) also. Here’s a particularly fun interview (opens in a new tab) Where Cavill had to politely explain that Warhammer is not World of Warcraft and that miniature painting is a perfectly normal hobby, thank you.
Robert Pattinson

The Twilight fan in me is always happy to add Robert Pattinson to any topic of conversation, but he’s here for his rant in Final Fantasy VII. The Batman actor has an adorable conversation with his co-star Zoe Kravitz in which he desperately tries to explain the importance of Aerith and Tifa in Final Fantasy VII and how he cried when Aerith died. He even explains that depending on the version of the game, Aerith’s name could be either Aerith or Aeris. He’s too clueless for this game, and it’s rewarding to watch him try his best to make this sound as exciting as possible.
Snoop Dogg
Snoop Dogg is another famous celebrity who welcomes the games. The rapper is known for his Call of Duty Warzone live performances, though he’s not exactly the most experienced streamer. He once left the stream running Seven hours after leaving the rage (opens in a new tab) Which made for an absolutely hilarious moment when he went back to the computer to stop the stream. He also left Live a week without sound (opens in a new tab) And none of his fans could even tell him despite their best efforts. It almost looks like performance art.
Based on what he streams live on his channel DoodyDog20, Snoop likes a little bit of CoD and a little bit of Madden. (opens in a new tab).
Terry Crowe
Although I admit I don’t know Terry Crowe’s favorite game, he has at least made a PC before. In a Interview with Business Insider (opens in a new tab), the actor tells the story of how he became interested in his children’s interests, which include computer games. After not understanding why her son liked to people-watch, she says, “I realized I was missing my son. I was missing him. And I said, I have to be a part of his world. I have to understand what he’s about. Because, you know, a lot of times parents are like, “Okay, come on, you want to come to work with Daddy. Come and do what daddy wants you to do.” And I realized I didn’t want to be that guy.”
So Khros decided to build a PC with his son and discovered the joy the activity can bring as a bonding experience. healthy, hey? This is why building your own PC is great (opens in a new tab).
The crew also had a custom build for her, made by JayzTwoCents, which looks pretty wicked and happens to be Old Spice themed.
Garry Kasparov
Kasparov isn’t exactly a celebrity unless you’re into chess. But if you’re into chess, he’s a superstar. This chess grandmaster, who has been the world’s top chess player for decades, also appreciates online games in addition to chess. In particular, Garry Kasparov likes a bit of Hearthstone.
Blizzard produced a promotional video for Hearthstone with the chess legend talking about enjoying the challenge of chess, which he says some in the wider chess community enjoy as well. The interview revolves around how Kasparov was beaten by an AI in 1997, his first loss, and he personally lost. However, he says the draw of Hearthstone is that the AI you play with doesn’t dominate the game like an AI can dominate chess, because there are so many variables. Clearly, Kasparov is still dominated by outplaying computers.
Jack Black
Jack Black starred in his own game, Brütal Legend, so I imagine it’s on his list of favorite games. But oddly enough, he likes Five Nights at Freddy’s enough to know the song The Living Tombstone by the same name. Black started a YouTube channel called JablinskiGames (opens in a new tab)by providing video evidence that he has a gaming chair.
Also, he made this TikTok. enjoy it.

Jamie Lee Curtis
Yes, Jamie Lee Curtis really did attend her daughter’s wedding in full cosplay. The actor, who is best known for his role in the Halloween movies, has been known to star here and there. She wore a full Jaina Proudmoore costume for her daughter’s wedding, but in 2015 she attended EVO as Street Fighter’s Vega because the mask allowed her to hide her true identity. naughty

Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd
Hobbits seem to love two things: food and League of Legends. Dominic Monaghan and Billy Boyd played a lot on League of Legends during the quarantine, and it seems they’ve talked about it several times. Their love for the game (opens in a new tab) Including on their podcast. Apparently, they even tried to get their Hobbit co-star Elijah Wood to play. How healthy, right? I mean, I imagine when they’re not arguing about whose fault it is.
Mila Kunis
Mila Kunis was a World of Warcraft fanatic at one point — so bad that she apparently had to cut the game out of her life. The actor briefly talks about his love of acting in his Hot Ones 2021 YouTube episode, where he says he knew his habit was dying when his agent had to come in to talk to him. Is. And her character had pink hair and tail, which is beautiful.
David Harbor
On the subject of World of Warcraft, the Stranger Things star says that the game It ruined his life. He said in an interview that he kicked him out in 2005. Harbor was apparently playing a night elf warrior named Norad, who was the second tank in his squad. The actor says he was interested in WoW for a year until he “dropped out [his] Mind.”
Harbor also liked to play The Sims, which happened to get him out of his Warcraft phase. Harbor watched as one of his sims became too focused on video games to reevaluate the life around him and his life. Without Sims, I wonder where the actor is now.
Other celebrities like Rosario Dawson and Samuel L. Jackson have appeared in games and gaming culture, but as far as I can tell they have yet to announce a favorite PC game. Of course, there will be those who play secrets in their own homes, and I say to them: Go ahead, admit that you are ignorant people like us.
