Here are the top three stories in Sandy Springs today:

  1. The Sandy Springs Police Department reports that it is investigating a burglary at Mariah Carey’s home. The incident is reported to be part of a series of crimes targeting celebrities in the Atlanta area. The department believes a local gang is behind the series of celebrity crimes. Residents are reminded not to post holiday updates on social media during the holidays. (WSB Atlanta)
  2. Fulton County is seeking more than 2,000 poll workers for the upcoming general election. The new workers will staff 36 advanced polling locations between October 16 and November 4. Then on November 8, they will staff 240 locations. Click on the survey to apply for employment. (CBS 46 News)
  3. Fulton County Schools has named two new elementary school principals. Shante Bates will lead Conley Hills Elementary School in East Point, while Takisha Bennings will lead Barnwell Elementary School in Johns Creek. The appointments were approved by the regional education council. (Atlanta Journal of the Constitution)
